West Wittering is a beautiful and historic village, full of charm and traditional Sussex character, on the famous English South Coast, nestled to the south of Chichester.
The main attraction is undoubtedly the world famous sandy beach - step out of South View’s garden gate and you are there. The beach slopes gently down to the broad sands perfect for sandcastles, sunbathing and swimming or long walks.
As well as the obvious attractions of the beach, close by you will find the bustling village of East Wittering - a short drive or 10 minute walk along the beach - with excellent Tesco and Co-op local stores for groceries and other holiday requirements. As well as a selection of highly-recommended local eateries, you will discover cafes, a pub, traditional fish & chip shops, surf shop and plenty of local boutiques.
The National Trust nature reserve at East Head is a must-do walk with its high sand dunes and stunning views.
South View is also a perfect base for visitors to Goodwood for the horse racing, motor circuit, Festival of Speed or Revival.
We love the miniature golf at Hunston (15 minutes) - it’s adventure themed and really good fun. There is also an excellent 18 and 9-hole course plus driving range.
There’s also the fantastic RNLI museum at Selsey.
Slightly further afield are Chichester (15 minutes) with its Roman walls, cathedral, canal boat tours, Fishbourne Roman Palace, Cineworld and bowling; the Mary Rose and Nelson’s HMS Victory at Portsmouth plus Gunwharf Quays shopping (35 minutes). Historic Arundel (castle, cathedral) is also just 30 minutes away.
Finally, if the weather is inclement, you can get a day pass to Butlins at Bognor - unlimited rides, entertainment, soft play area and sub-tropical water park.
There is so much more to do and we are always really happy to help out before or when you are here if you have any further questions.
